WEST TOWN TAVERN RECEIVES MICHELIN AWARD

Posted on Wednesday, November 24, 2010

Michelin Guide announced their 2011 Bib Gourmand Awards including 46 Chicago eateries.

The Bib Gourmand designation denotes good cuisine at a reasonable price in a variety of comfort categories. Defined as "Inspectors' Favorites for Good Value," Bib Gourmand restaurants offer two courses and a glass of wine or dessert for $40 or less (tax and gratuity not included), and are often of most value to a city's residents, who regularly dine in neighborhood restaurants.

West Town Tavern is proud to be a recipient of the 2011 Bib Gourmand!

Did you know? Bibendum is Latin for "let's all drink!" So come on in to the Tavern and raise a glass to great food and wine!

"If comfort food is what you need, consider letting Chef/owner Susan Goss do the cooking. She and her husband Drew (who brings genuine hospitality to the front of the house) are active in the community; and, as a result, their warm tavern has become a neighborhhod gathering place and local leader in home-style fare.

The bulk of their business comes from regulars who clamor for nightly specials, like fried chicaken and biscuots or the Wagyu beef burger with curried sweet potato chips. The velvety-tender zinfandel-braised pot roast with tangy Pennsyvania Dutch black vinegar sauce and hearty garlic mashed potatoes is one of hteir long-time favorites. No comfort food fest would be complete without dessert; try the bourbon pecan pie or the apple turnover."
