Drew and Susan Goss have been fixtures in the Chicago restaurant
community for the past 10 years as owners of Zinfandel Restaurant in
River North. In 1999 the Gosses began to look for space to open a
small, neighborhood restaurant and found it in 2001 at 1329 West
Chicago Avenue. West Town Tavern embodies the spirit of early
American Taverns as community meeting places where people gather for
food, drink, news and gossip. As longtime residents of West Town,
Drew and Susan are excited to create their dream restaurant in their
own community. Restaurateurs for the past 20 years,
the Gosses have received accolades from The Wine Spectator (Awards
of Excellence for Zinfandel from 1993-2001), Chicago Magazine (one
of the Best New Restaurants 1994, top Chicago restaurants 1997,
1999), Esquire Magazine and Gourmet Magazine. Zinfandel received the
coveted DiRona Award for 1999, 2000, 2001 and 2002.
Drew and Susan Goss are well known for their community involvement
in Chicago. Both have been active in Share Our Strength’s Taste of
the Nation events, hosting the Annual Girl Food Dinner at Zinfandel
for the past six years. Susan regularly teaches nutrition classes to
women at risk of hunger in West Town, Cabrini Green and also on the
south side of Chicago. |
